Another hot Saturday today and the Waterfront Engineering crew again were hard at work putting in more braces to hold the forms for the concrete cap on the West seawall. Although anchors have yet to be put in for this section of the seawall. Anchors for parts of the West seawall were built into concrete "deadmen" where the soil was either too hard or too loose for the anchors. Deadmen are concrete blocks about three feet by 18 inches. When making the underground deadmen concrete is poured around anchors. After the concrete sets the deadmen are then covered with soil. (Four more pictures have been added to the Photo Album labeled Ninth Week Progress.)
Rex:
Thanks for your latest update. We were very pleased with the last group of picture - we were actually able to see our "corner" of the seawall being installed and we were surprised to see that they were able to work around a large hedge in our neighbor's yard. Will be looking forward to your next update.
